Destiny Number
Also known as: Expression Number
The sum of all letters in your full birth name, reduced to a single digit or master number. Reveals your life's purpose and the role you're here to play.
Heart's Desire
Also known as: Soul Urge Number
The sum of all vowels in your full name. Reflects your inner motivations — what you truly want beneath the surface presentation.
Dream Number
Also known as: Personality Number
The sum of all consonants in your full name. Shows how you appear to others before they know you — your outer personality layer.
Life Path Number
Also known as: Birth Path
Calculated from your full date of birth. Considered the most important single number — your core life mission and the lessons you came to learn.
Master Numbers
Also known as: 11 · 22 · 33
Numbers that are never reduced further. 11 is the Visionary, 22 is the Master Builder, 33 is the Master Teacher. They carry double the energy and double the challenge.
Karmic Debt Numbers
Also known as: 13 · 14 · 16 · 19
Numbers that appear as unreduced sums in the chart before reduction. They indicate past-life lessons that must be addressed in this lifetime.
Personal Year
Also known as: Annual Cycle
Calculated from birth month + day + current year. Changes each birthday. Runs on a 9-year cycle from new beginnings (1) to completion (9).
Personal Month
The Personal Year + current calendar month, reduced. A more fine-grained cycle within the annual cycle.
Universal Day
The sum of today's full date (year + month + day), reduced. The numerological energy available to everyone on a given day.
Pythagorean System
Also known as: Western Numerology
The most widely used system. Assigns values A=1…I=9, J=1…R=9, S=1…Z=8. All 26 letters map to 1–9.
Chaldean System
Also known as: Ancient Babylonian
An older system from Babylon. Assigns values 1–8 only (9 is sacred, unassigned). Uses compound numbers before reduction for deeper reading.
Gematria
Also known as: English Ordinal
Assigns A=1, B=2, C=3 … Z=26. A straight ordinal assignment. Used in English occult traditions.
Lo Shu Grid
Also known as: Magic Square
A 3×3 grid from Chinese mathematics (2800 BCE). Birth digits are placed in the grid to show which numbers are present, missing, or repeated.
Compound Number
The unreduced sum before a number is brought to a single digit. Especially important in the Chaldean system — 14 is "Movement," 16 is "The Shattered Citadel."
Reduction
The process of adding digits together until you reach a single digit or master number. 29 → 11 (master), 28 → 10 → 1.
Numerological Twin
A person who shares all three of your core name numbers: Destiny, Heart's Desire, and Dream. Statistically rare — less than 2% of the database in most cases.
